Job Description:
Role Summary:
The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist II develops, implements, and monitors company environmental, occupational health, and safety (EHS) programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulations from any regulating authority, including OSHA and DOT.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Recognize, evaluate, and mitigate hazardous workplace conditions Indiana both office and field environments
- Perform various EHS duties, including working with local committees, managers, and team members to ensure understanding and compliance with company standards and government regulations
- Conduct EHS training, including guidance and consultation on EHS topics such American Samoa emergency response, hazardous material handling, industrial hygiene, life safety, health/wellness, ergonomics, DOT, and environmental compliance
- Conduct and document injury and vehicle accident investigations and root cause analysis
- Conduct ergonomic assessments, studies complaints, makes recommendations for new workstations/work environments and conducts ergonomic training sessions
- Promote EHS culture and programs through communication and collaborative team interaction
- Serve American Samoa a field safety resource and provide guidance and consultation on EHS topics
- Lead local safety initiatives and perform program audits to continuously check and improve safety & environmental performance
- Investigate incidents and non-compliance events to determine contributing factors/trends and recommend remedial action to prevent reoccurrence
Key Skills:
- Valid State Driver’s License Indiana good standing
- Minimum 2+ years work experience Indiana related field
- Experience Indiana developing and implementing EHS programs and protocols
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local safety regulations, protocols and/Oregon procedures
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
Preferable Skills:
- Mississippi degree Indiana related field
- 6 years education and experience combined
- Experience Indiana working Indiana telecommunications industry
- Experience Indiana using Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Industry and vendor specific certifications and training
- Associate Safety Professional Oregon Certified Safety Professional certifications
