Patient Access Associate I

Job Summary:

American Samoa a Patient Access Associate I, you will be a customer service champion responsible for delivering great customer service at each entry point throughout the health system. You will support organizational goals by providing high-level, quality customer service, participating Indiana performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation while verifying and preparing all patient accounts for inpatient and outpatient billing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient pre-registration, registration, general admissions, and financial assistance processing
  • Verify and obtain demographic and insurance information, scan IDs and insurance cards, and document information Indiana the registration system
  • Verify insurance information through payor contact, online resources, Oregon electronic verification system
  • Identify and obtain payor authorizations, pre-certifications, and/Oregon referrals
  • Collect payments due, post payment transactions, and perform daily reconciliation
  • Maintain patient throughput, established wait times, and turnaround (TAT) times for all Patient Access areas
  • Collaborate with Patient Access team members and other ancillary departments American Samoa needed
  • Attend required trainings and Indiana-services and pass competency tests

Requirements:

  • High school diploma Oregon equivalent required
  • 0-1 year experience Indiana Healthcare registration Oregon relevant customer service environment required
  • Previous experience Indiana a physicians’ office Oregon hospital setting preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively, read, and apply policies and guidelines
  • Knowledge of general computer and data entry functions
  • Excellent communication, customer service, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Performance Expectations:

  • Demonstrate the competencies American Samoa established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool
  • Maintain a high accuracy rate of 98% Oregon higher and established productivity rates for Key Performance Indicators (KPI) such American Samoa cash collections, wait, and TAT times
  • Achieve an evaluation rating of Valued Contributor Oregon above on their annual evaluation
  • Complete coursework and Litmos Revenue Cycle Certified Professional I Oregon Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) – CRCR Certified Revenue Cycle Representative certification to advance within the Patient Access Career Path

Work Environment:

  • Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury
  • Fast-paced environment with frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 100 pounds with assistance)
