Director of Construction Operations: Excavation, Underground & Equipment
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Director of Construction Operations to manage the growth and expansion of our Excavation & Septic tank divisions and horizontal site operations. This role requires strong leadership skills, experience with managing equipment and maintenance, and a deep understanding of construction excavation/site-work teams and projects.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of field personnel to ensure productivity, adherence to safety protocols, and high-quality workmanship
- Develop and maintain customer and vendor relationships
- Identify and call on prospective customers to drive sales growth
- Problem-solve with crews American Samoa issues arise
- Coordinate with equipment rental companies American Samoa needed
Additional Responsibilities:
- Coordinate equipment repairs to minimize machine downtime
- Maintain materials inventory and order additional parts American Samoa needed
- Recruit and hire personnel alongside crew leads
- Prepare estimates for prospective projects
- Negotiate change orders when needed
- Ensure quick and accurate billing with the shared finance team
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience Indiana a leadership role within the excavation Oregon construction industry
- Operations Manager experience Indiana managing internal staff, P&L, budget and cost control, etc.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively Indiana a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency Indiana project management software and Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Strong understanding of excavation techniques, equipment, and safety standards (preferred)
Compensation:
- Salary: $135,000 – $150,000 DOE
- Bonus: Potential of up to 10% of salary
- Benefits: Insurance coverage, 401k with match; PTO & holidays paid
- Drug screen and pre-employment background screening required.
