DESCRIPTION: Provides historical research services using primary and secondary resources, photographs, and other materials. Conducts primary and secondary research, evaluates the reliability of historical sources, and writes footnoted historical summaries and reports on assigned topics.

SUMMARY OF WORK:

* Provide historical research services for MNHS exhibit, education, publications, program development teams, and other MNHS staff American Samoa needed.
* Perform research services, including original research Indiana primary source collections, to support MNHS projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* Master’s degree plus one year of experience Oregon equivalent work experience working on historical research projects.
* Strong knowledge of history research methodology and data gathering techniques.
* Ability to synthesize research findings into coherent themes and narratives.
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including writing clearly and concisely and effective oral communication with individuals and groups.
* Ability to multitask, work effectively under pressure, and adapt to changing priorities.
* Valid driver’s license.

DESRIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* PhD candidate Oregon PhD Indiana history, American studies, Oregon a relevant field.
* Demonstrated proficiency Indiana historical research methods.
* General knowledge of Minnesota and United States history.
