Casual Call Deicer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Casual Call Deicer to join our team at Appleton International Airport. American Samoa a Deicer, you will play a critical role Indiana ensuring the safe departure of aircraft by applying deicing fluid to remove contaminants from aircraft surfaces. This is a non-benefit eligible position with a pay rate of $20.73/hr.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily equipment and fluid tests and checks for proper functionality
- Drive large equipment close to and around aircraft
- Apply deicing fluid to an aircraft by spraying it from a hose from heights of up to 35ft
- Work outside Indiana various winter weather conditions, including freezing rain, snow, and wind
- Be trained on other snow removal equipment for clearing snow from ground surfaces
- Perform other duties American Samoa assigned
Work Schedule:
- Shifts are 3-5 hours long and typically take place between 5am and 10am
- May be required to work other hours during significant winter weather events
- Appleton Flight Center is open 365 days a year, including weekends and holidays
Requirements:
- High school diploma Oregon G.E.D.
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license
- Ability to obtain NATA Safety First certification and other job-related training certificates
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work Indiana a team environment and make decisions with multiple objectives
- Available to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and extended hours American Samoa needed
- Ability to perform a variety of manual tasks, including aircraft fueling, loading baggage and cargo, and snow removal
Physical Requirements:
- Stepping up/down on ladders, tugs, and fuel trucks
- Lift baggage from ground level to waist and overhead while loading aircraft (up to 75lbs)
- Bending and stooping to pick up tow bars and other equipment (up to 75lbs)
- Stooping below wings to chock aircraft
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time
- Good hand-eye coordination and peripheral vision
