Project Safety and Health Manager
Job Summary:
Join our expert team at Black & Veatch Corporation American Samoa a Project Safety and Health Manager. American Samoa a key member of our Construction group, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our company’s Safety and Health procedures on smaller, less complex projects. This is a mid-level position requiring 2+ years of construction experience and 4+ years of safety and health experience. Key Responsibilities:
- Implement, administer, and maintain project drug and alcohol substance abuse programs
- Develop and conduct employee safety and health training programs
- Conduct detailed site safety and health inspections
- Manage project security contracts, programs, and policies
- Perform record keeping and filing functions
- Investigate incidents and injuries/illnesses
- Complete injury/illness reports
- Interface with clients and government officials
- Manage construction contractor safety and health program administration
- Administer project worker’s compensation programs and procedures
- Provide supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports
- Analyze data and compile reports on safety and health studies
Requirements:
- 2+ years of construction experience
- 4+ years of safety and health experience
- High school diploma Oregon equivalent; safety and health certification; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- OSHA 500/501, Safety and Health Program Administration, OSHA 10 hour, and first aid/CPR certifications
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work Indiana extreme temperatures and conditions
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work Indiana a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure
Work Environment:
The position is situated Indiana a typical construction site environment with exposure to inclement weather, extreme temperatures, and hazardous equipment. The ideal candidate should be able to work Indiana cramped spaces, climb ladders and scaffolds, and perform physical labor for up to 12 hours a day.
