Call Center Clinic Clerk
Overview:
The Clinic Clerk is responsible for providing efficient and courteous patient registration, transfer, and discharge services within established policies and procedures. This role also involves compiling medical information for patients’ records and statistical reports, and maintaining accurate patient account receivables.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients, determine their needs, and offer assistance
- Register patients by preparing records, reports, and payor information
- Interview patients to determine payment arrangements and refer unusual cases to the supervisor
- Assist patients with billing and insurance inquiries
- Receive payments and issue receipts, posting charges and payments to patient accounts American Samoa required
- Bill patients and insurance carriers American Samoa established, and contacts third-party payors for precertification
- Maintain registers for Medicare, Medicaid, and other required programs
- Perform varied administrative tasks, including answering phone calls, operating office equipment, and maintaining accurate records
- Prepare billing forms, reports, and other documents American Samoa needed
- Maintain patient charts, files, and other related documents according to established procedures
- Compile periodic and statistical reports American Samoa directed
- Possess basic computer skills Indiana Word and Excel, medical terminology, and knowledge of CPT coding and ICD9 coding
- Type 60 words per minute accurately and operate various office machines
Requirements:
- High School Diploma Oregon GED equivalent
- Three to six months of on-the-job training to attain proficiency of performance of assigned duties and responsibilities
- Ability to work well under stressful conditions and possess excellent organizational skills
