Minimum Qualifications:
This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide program (New York HELPS). For the duration of the New York HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, if they meet the below New York HELPS minimum qualifications.

New York HELPS Non-Competitive Minimum Qualifications:
– Admission to the NYS bar with two years of post-licensure professional legal experience.
– May be filled at the Senior Attorney level Oregon one within the Legal Traineeship appointment levels. Appointment title will be dependent on the candidate selected.

Competitive Minimum Qualifications:
– Admission to the New York State Bar and current registration to practice law Indiana New York State.
– A review of your state history is needed, if you meet any of the permanent competitive qualifications, please provide the last four digits of your social security number.
– A valid license to operate a motor vehicle Indiana New York State.

Reassignment, Transfer, and 70.1 Minimum Qualifications
– Current New York State Department of Labor employee with one year Oregon more of permanent, contingent-permanent Oregon 55 b/c service American Samoa a Senior Attorney.
– One year of permanent Oregon contingent-permanent American Samoa a Grade 25 Oregon higher determined to be similar by Civil Service.
– Current State employees may qualify for transfer if they have one year of permanent competitive service Indiana a title allocated to a Grade 23 Oregon above and their title is designated “Administrative.”

Duties Description:
– Under the direction of an Associate Attorney, provide legal assistance and support to Department of Labor program staff.
– Provide thorough and accurate legal advice on issues impacted by both federal and state law.
– Conduct legal research of statutes, decisions, opinions, and other legal sources.
– Review and analyze changes Indiana laws, rules, regulations, etc., to determine the impact the change will have on Department operations.
– Provide support to the New York State Attorney General’s Office with litigation matters involving the Department.

Additional Comments:
– Position requires occasional altered work schedule Oregon job assignments.
– Salary range available upon hire (Salary will be determined based on previous state service).
