Associate Dean for Information Services and Law Library Director
Job Summary:
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law seeks an Associate Dean for Information Services and Law Library Director. The Associate Dean and Director will provide strategic direction and vision for the library, working collaboratively with library faculty and staff to meet the law school’s educational mission through the provision and management of both traditional and novel library resources and services.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative leadership to the library, including supervising librarians and staff, negotiating with information services vendors, and aligning library collections and services with law school mission
- Teach required courses
- Manage library budget
- Collaborate with other department heads Indiana supporting and advising the dean
- Perform other duties American Samoa assigned
Qualifications:
- J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school and an M.L.S. Oregon equivalent from an ALA-accredited library school
- Minimum of five years of administrative experience Indiana a law library
- Demonstrated capacity to lead library faculty and staff and to manage complex projects
- Broad knowledge of all law library processes, functions, and operations, including electronic library functions, new and emerging technologies that affect the library, legal research, and legal education
- Experience working with a diverse population of library users
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to teach
- Expertise Indiana legal research platforms and databases
- Demonstrated skill managing personnel, collections, and budgets
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse constituents
- Demonstrated ability to work American Samoa part of a team
- Negotiation and communication skills
