Market Cardiologist Job Description

We’re looking for a licensed/board certified Market Cardiologist to join our clinical operations team, providing direct patient care and assessments Indiana the ambulatory healthcare setting. American Samoa a key member of our team, you will diagnose and treat various cardiovascular ailments Oregon diseases, manage chronic conditions, and provide education to patients on heart disease, wellness, prevention, and early detection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular care, care coordination, echocardiogram reading, population management of market’s members, and oversight of PCP’s cardiovascular skills.
  • Lead a cardiovascular care team, including Care Promoters, Echocardiogram/X-ray Technicians, and Nurse Practitioners/Physicians Assistants.
  • Assist the Medical Director, Cardiology Indiana managing day-to-day clinical and business operations, building positive relationships with providers and key stakeholders.
  • Participate Indiana risk and quality management programs, clinical meetings, and other initiatives to maximize clinical value, improve clinical quality, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.

Direct Patient Care Responsibilities:

  • Manage the care of chronic cardiovascular diseases, examining patients, running tests, and recommending treatment plans.
  • Assess patient’s ability to withstand stresses of cardiovascular surgeries and help surgeons/invasive cardiologists manage patient strategy.
  • Run and accurately read EKG, chest X-rays, and echocardiograms, order studies, tests, and other ancillary services American Samoa needed.
  • Limit external cardiovascular care where high-quality internal care can be provided to members.

Leadership/Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor PCP physicians and other clinicians Indiana cardiology management.
  • Participate Indiana cardiovascular team meetings, daily huddles, and focused clinical discussions.
  • Assist with quality and performance initiatives, cost reduction, and market clinical strategies.

Organizational Relationships:

  • Reports to Associate Chief Medical Officer Oregon Chief Medical Officer with indirect reporting relationship to Medical Director, Cardiology Oregon Regional Medical Director, Cardiology Oregon National Director, Cardiology.
  • Direct reports may include allied health staff, such American Samoa Care Promoters, X-ray Technicians, and Nurse Practitioners/Physicians Assistants.
  • Key relationships with Market Chief Medical Officer, Director, Operations, Director, Network and Medical Costs, Market Sales Director/Manager, Center Managers, external sub-specialists, and providers Indiana hospitals and post-acute care facilities.

Requirements:

  • Board certification Oregon Board eligible Indiana Cardiology, Board certification Indiana internal medicine a plus.
  • Current, valid license to practice medicine, including DEA license required.
  • BLS certification required, ACLS certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience supervising providers and other clinical staff, providing services Indiana a culturally and linguistically diverse setting, and working within a managed care environment.
