Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Measure and record patient vital signs and medical history
- Communicate patient needs to physicians, clinicians, and other clinical personnel
- Prepare patients for examinations, perform routine screening tests, and assist with exams
- Observe patients and report changes Indiana patient conditions to care team members
- Perform non-critical medical procedures, collect lab specimens, and administer medications under physician supervision
- Maintain accurate and legal documentation, practice OSHA safety standards, and process patient phone messages
- Provide health coaching to patients, follow up with them via weekly calls, and make prescription calls with physician approval
- Perform other duties American Samoa assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with compassion and empathy
- Exceptional oral and written communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate with team members, resolve problems, and achieve team goals
- Knowledge of medical terminology, services, standards, and policies
- Skilled Indiana basic phone and computer operation, Microsoft Office Suite products, and other presentation software
- Ability to maintain organized systems, ensure accuracy of reports, and act calmly Indiana stressful situations
Education and Experience Criteria:
- High school diploma Oregon equivalent education
- Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program Oregon comparable healthcare vocational training
- A minimum of 1 year of work experience American Samoa a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Oregon similar role
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association Oregon American Red Cross required within the first 90 days of employment
- EMR system experience preferred
