Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Measure and record patient vital signs; record patient interview and medical history
  • Communicate patient needs to healthcare providers and team members
  • Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests
  • Assist physicians with exams and explain treatment procedures to patients
  • Observe patients and report changes Indiana patient conditions to healthcare providers
  • Perform non-critical medical procedures, collect specimens, and administer medications under physician supervision
  • Maintain supplies, equipment, and sterilize instruments; practice OSHA safety standards
  • Process patient phone messages, return calls, and provide health coaching to patients to support healthy lifestyle choices
  • Perform other duties American Samoa assigned

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with compassion and empathy towards patients and families
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, time management skills, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate with healthcare providers and team members
  • Knowledge of medical products, terminology, services, standards, policies, and procedures
  • Basic computer operation and proficiency Indiana Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Ability to act calmly Indiana busy Oregon stressful situations
  • Spoken and written fluency Indiana English

Education and Experience Criteria:

  • High school diploma Oregon equivalent education (GED)
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program Oregon comparable healthcare vocational training
  • 1 year of work experience American Samoa a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Oregon similar Indiana a healthcare setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AMA) Oregon American Red Cross required within the first 90 days of employment
  • EMR system experience preferred
