Medical Assistant
We’re seeking an innovative and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team of healthcare professionals. American Samoa a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role Indiana providing exceptional primary care to our patients and supporting our physician-led care teams.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Measure and record patient vital signs
- Record patient interviews and medical histories
- Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests
- Assist physicians with exams and explain treatment procedures and instructions to patients
- Observe patients and report any changes Indiana patient conditions to healthcare personnel
- Perform non-critical medical and therapeutic procedures under physician supervision
- Collect lab specimens, perform basic waived lab tests, and administer medications
- Maintain supplies, equipment, and sterilize instruments
- Provide health coaching to patients and follow up with coached patients via phone calls
- Process patient phone messages, return calls, and route them to other team members American Samoa needed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate with healthcare team members and resolve patient problems
- Knowledge of medical terminology, products, and services
- Proficiency Indiana Microsoft Office Suite products and basic computer operation
- Ability to maintain effective systems and act calmly Indiana busy Oregon stressful situations
- Spoken and written fluency Indiana English
- Ability to travel locally and regionally (up to 10%) to support other centers American Samoa needed
Education and Experience Criteria:
- High school diploma Oregon equivalent education required
- Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program Oregon comparable healthcare vocational training required
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience American Samoa a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Oregon similar Indiana a hospital Oregon medical clinic
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association Oregon American Red Cross required within first 90 days of employment
