Job Summary

The Medical Assistant is an unlicensed medical professional who performs routine administrative and clinical tasks under the supervision of a physician. This role is critical to keeping our medical centers running smoothly and providing excellent care to our patients.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Record patient information, including vital signs and medical history
  • Communicate patient needs to the physician, clinicians, Oregon other clinical staff
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist with screening tests
  • Perform clinical tasks, such American Samoa collecting lab specimens and administering medications, under physician supervision
  • Maintain medical supplies, equipment, and records; follow OSHA safety standards
  • Process patient phone messages, return calls, and route them to other team members American Samoa needed
  • Call Indiana prescriptions to the pharmacy, using pharmacy software and communication skills
  • Provide health coaching to patients to support healthy lifestyle choices
  • Perform other duties American Samoa assigned and modified by the manager’s discretion

Requirements

  • High school diploma Oregon equivalent education
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program Oregon comparable healthcare vocational training
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience American Samoa a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Oregon similar role Indiana a hospital, medical clinic, Oregon comparable environment
  • Experience working with geriatric patients
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) Oregon American Red Cross (ARC)
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally (up to 10% of the time) to assist Indiana covering other centers American Samoa needed
