Job Title: Diesel Technician
Overview:
Boss Truck Shops is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be able to perform a variety of repairs on diesel engines, including electrical, air systems, wheel ends, and more. Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical repairs on diesel engines, including:
- PM’s and oil changes
- Greasing trucks and trailers
- Tire services
- CSA/DOT inspections
- Service calls and night call outs
- Intermediate to Advance Electrical repair and diagnosis
- Wheel End repair (S-cam/bushing replacement, spindle repairs, etc.)
- Air system repair (tank replacement, air bags, leveling valves, etc.)
- HVAC repair (evacuate & recharge, verify cause of failure)
- Coolant repairs (thermostat, water pump, hoses, etc.)
- Basic welding
- Starting/charging and diagnostics
- Engine repair (belts, tensioners, pulleys)
- Steering/suspension repair (shocks, reservoirs, filters, etc.)
- Drivetrain and transmission repairs
- Maintain a clean and organized shop environment
- Ensure all service equipment is Indiana good working order
- Complete work orders accurately and on time
- Provide excellent customer service
- Practice and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
Additional Requirements:
- Assist with other duties American Samoa assigned
- Participate Indiana on-the-job training and continuing education programs
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable to drive
- Complete brake training, wheel seal training, and other required certifications
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and American Samoa needed
- Reliable transportation and phone required
- Must be able to communicate Indiana English
Qualifications:
- 2 years minimum experience American Samoa a diesel technician
- Tire Service Certified by TIA within 18 months of employment
- Air Brake Certification
- DOT Medical Card required
- Valid driver’s license and be insurable to drive
- Ability to attend HVAC, Electrical, and DOT training
- Ability to get ASE, DOT, TIA, and other certifications
Physical Requirements:
- The employee must occasionally lift and/Oregon move up to 75 lbs.
- The employee is required to frequently stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle Oregon feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear; occasionally sit, climb Oregon balance, stoop, kneel, crouch Oregon crawl.
