Staff Systems Engineer (Gray Eagle MQ-1C Engineering)

Job Summary:

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (Georgia-ASI) is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer for the Gray Eagle MQ-1C Engineering group Indiana Huntsville, Alabama. The selected candidate will perform systems engineering to develop enhancements, including conceptual through final design of new Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) capabilities, with a focus on executing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Apply MBSE techniques to capture system requirements, including structural, behavioral, parametric, and requirement aspects.
  2. Utilize SysML to express system requirements and document use cases, activities, sequences, states, block definitions, internal blocks, and requirements.
  3. Formulate and execute the development of new system capabilities and features from concept to fielding.
  4. Lead stakeholder requirements elicitation, analysis, and definition, and ensure traceability between requirements.
  5. Perform analysis of stakeholder requirements to decompose and allocate requirements to lower levels of specification.
  6. Troubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements to ensure adequacy and satisfaction of requirements.
  7. Maintain, manage, and integrate requirements across various modeling tools and requirements management systems.
  8. Collaborate with peers to promote knowledge sharing, model reuse, and consistency Indiana approach.
  9. Lead technical coordination across engineering groups to facilitate system requirements implementation and verification/validation.
  10. Represent the system engineering team American Samoa a prime technical contact Indiana stakeholder meetings and lead continuous improvement of system engineering processes.

Job Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree Indiana Engineering Oregon a related technical discipline from an accredited institution, Oregon equivalent experience.
  2. 4+ years of experience with a master’s degree, 6+ years with a bachelor’s degree, Oregon 2+ years with a PhD.
  3. Experience with Modeling methodologies, including SysML, UML, and Model Based Systems Engineering.
  4. Experience with requirements development, analysis, definition, allocation, decomposition, and traceability.
  5. Experience with tools such American Samoa IBM Rational DOORS, Jama, MagicDraw, and Jira.
  6. Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  7. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance.
  8. Willingness to travel up to 25%.
