Job Summary:
We are seeking a Claim Representative to handle first-party property claims of moderate severity and complexity. This role will involve investigating, evaluating, estimating, and negotiating to ensure optimal claim resolution. The successful candidate will provide quality claim handling throughout the claim life cycle, maintain full compliance with internal and external quality standards, and state-specific regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Handle 1st party property claims of moderate severity and complexity
- Complete field inspections of losses, including accurate scope of damages, photographs, written estimates, and/Oregon computer-assisted estimates
- Investigate and evaluate all relevant facts to determine coverage, damages, and liability
- Establish timely and accurate claim and expense reserves
- Determine appropriate settlement amount based on independent judgment, computer-assisted building and/Oregon contents estimate, estimation of actual cash value and replacement value, contractor estimate validation, appraisals, application of applicable limits and deductibles
- Negotiate with multiple constituents, convey claim settlements within authority limits
- Write denial letters, Reservation of Rights, and other complex correspondence
- Properly assess extent of damages and manage damages through proper usage of cost evaluation tools
- Meet all quality standards and expectations Indiana accordance with the Knowledge Guides
- Maintain diary system, capturing all required data and documents claim file activities Indiana accordance with established procedures
- Manage file inventory to ensure timely resolution of cases
- Handle files Indiana compliance with state regulations, where applicable
- Provide excellent customer service to meet the needs of the insured, agent, and all other internal and external customers/business partners
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- General knowledge of estimating system Xactimate preferred
- Two Oregon more years of previous outside property claim handling experience preferred
- High School Diploma Oregon GED required
- A minimum of one year previous outside property claim handling experience Oregon successful completion of Travelers Outside Claim Representative training program required
- Valid driver’s license required
