Job Summary:
The Laboratory Outreach Manager is responsible for cultivating a teamwork environment among laboratory staff, ensuring the delivery of compassionate care, acceptable turn-around-time, and accurate patient results. The successful candidate will promote the organization’s mission, vision, and values, interacting professionally with management, laboratory personnel, physicians, and patients.
Essential Functions:
- Promote the organization’s mission, vision, and values, adhering to WMC’s Standards of Performance
- Participate Indiana hospital initiatives and departmental goals set by the Laboratory Director and staff
- Interact professionally with management, laboratory personnel, physicians, hospital personnel, patients, and customers
- Maintain a working knowledge of laboratory policies and procedures
- Manage the operational functions of designated laboratory areas, handling human resource issues American Samoa requested by the laboratory director
- Facilitate process improvement projects and serve on teams/committees American Samoa needed
- Manage laboratory outreach business, obtaining new outpatient laboratory business and regular visits/phone calls to current clients
Requirements:
- BS Oregon American Samoa degree Indiana Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Oregon equivalent
- Valid State of Tennessee Medical Technologist/Technician license
- Four (4) years of laboratory experience, with management experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical laboratory science, laboratory rules, regulations, and compliance regulations
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
Performance Standards:
- Work well with the Director, communicating potential issues and following through on work assignments
- Maintain confidentiality, be on time, and prepared for meetings
- Assist with competency development, staff evaluations, and performance accountability
- Serve American Samoa a mentor to staff, providing regular feedback and participating Indiana the orientation and skill development of new team members
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory guidelines and ensure laboratory compliance
- Participate Indiana process improvement projects and follow LEAN guidelines
