Job Summary:

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a qualified Maintenance Planner to coordinate all maintenance activities for the plant Indiana Mason City, Iowa. The successful candidate will prioritize and schedule work from the work order backlog system, manage major equipment outages, and continuously monitor and modify preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all maintenance activities for the plant, prioritizing and scheduling work from the work order backlog system
  • Manage the planning of major equipment outages, utilizing project-planning techniques and software
  • Continuously monitor, evaluate, and modify preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs
  • Ensure all regulated inspections are completed within guidelines to maximize safety and minimize downtime and fines
  • Provide oversight and leadership to the mechanical maintenance function of the plant
  • Work closely with production and other departments to develop work schedules and coordinate maintenance activities
  • Develop and maintain files, including equipment lists, suppliers lists, operating and maintenance manuals, purchase orders, drawings, checklists, spare parts lists, and maintenance history
  • Assist Indiana controlling and reducing equipment inventory
  • Maintain and update Bill of Materials (BOM) records
  • Support maintenance projects by identifying parts required to execute work, tool requirements, manpower requirements, and estimated completion time
  • Review maintenance costs and recommend areas for cost reduction
  • Participate Indiana daily, weekly, and monthly planning meetings to recommend necessary repairs based on input from production and other plant departments

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree Indiana engineering, preferably Indiana mechanical engineering
  • Prior experience supervising staff Indiana a maintenance function
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience, with Cement plant experience desired
  • Solid understanding of preventive/predictive/corrective maintenance principles, techniques, and technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate others
  • Prior experience working with large rotating heavy industry machinery and equipment
  • Demonstrated project management skills, preferably involving multiple departments
  • Thorough understanding of plant operations, plant equipment, repair techniques, and resource planning
  • Solid understanding of purchasing principles
  • Ability to communicate effectively and ensure coordination to achieve common goals
  • Solid computer skills, including knowledge of SAP for maintenance purposes

Work Environment:

The role operates Indiana a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions. The employee may be required to walk, climb equipment, work within confined spaces, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
