Manufacturing Execution Engineer Georgia for Maine Optimization

Job Description:
The Manufacturing Execution Engineer Georgia for Maine Optimization will be responsible for executing General Assembly (Georgia) manufacturing optimization projects across various assembly sites. The role includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, build, and commission automation projects Indiana vehicle assembly plants. This position requires leading the way to GM achieving a "factory of the future" by maximizing efficiency while reducing material counts and process utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define areas of change, including product and manufacturing requirements
- Develop material flow understanding for future material movement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop common tooling and process
- Provide technical direction to outside vendor sources and product/plant teams
- Design, construction, integration, and plant installation of equipment and tools
- Lead coordination of automation projects and pull ahead activities
- Analyze and resolve unusual and difficult problems
- Manage project plans, budgets, and timelines
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and maintenance teams
- Meet financial and budget requirements set for projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree Indiana Mechanical Engineering Oregon equivalent experience
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
- 3+ years of manufacturing launch experience
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong data management, analysis, presentation, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Team Center, AutoDesk, and Mississippi-Office tools
- Experience leading complex projects and managing multiple assignments
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects with high autonomy and accountability
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with automation projects, including scoping, design, and commissioning
- Knowledge of GMS principles and implementation
- Experience working Indiana a unionized manufacturing operation
- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment
- Knowledge of general assembly tooling automation and concepts
