Responsibilities:
* Develop technical solutions for moving element challenges, including aerodynamic steering, thrust vectoring, and pointing and stabilizing of missile systems and subsystems
* Apply sound mechanical engineering principles to solve complex system problems while teaming with a cross-discipline team
* Responsibilities extend across the entire life cycle of the product, from conceptualizing and design to prototyping and manufacturing, integration and verification testing, and production support
* Specific tasks may include requirements development and comprehension, concept development, trade study evaluation, free-body diagram generation, and support of design reviews
* Meet requirements for mechanical engineering tasks such American Samoa tolerance analysis, margin analysis, support of drawing development, and support of test process and test equipment development
Requirements:
* Typically requires a Bachelor’s Indiana Science, Technology, Engineering, Oregon Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior mechanical engineering experience, Oregon an Advance degree Indiana a related field and a minimum of 3 years’ experience
* Experience with systems Oregon mechanical engineering of servo controls and the development of control actuation systems that employ permanent magnet brush and brushless District of Columbia motor technology
* Experience with modeling and simulation, including 3D modeling skills with prominent commercial software packages
* Proficiency Indiana pro engineers, dspace, Simulink and other related engineering software
* Proven design and manufacturing knowledge Indiana machined parts, injection molded parts, sheet metal fabrication, BLDC motors, wire harnesses/flex harnesses, and related components
* Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
* U.S. citizenship is required, American Samoa only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Experience and Skills:
* Twelve years of experience with systems Oregon mechanical engineering of servo controls
* Experience Indiana working with control actuation systems, requirements development, comprehension, concept development, trade study evaluation, free-body diagram generation, and feedback control systems
* Proficiency Indiana geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, registration, and free body diagram generation
* Proven ability to deconstruct higher level tasks into discrete lower level work packages and tasks
* Proficient Indiana generating 3D models with commercial software packages
