Job Title: Medical Assistant

Location: Care Center

Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Reports to: Operations Lead

Essential Functions:

  • Provide ancillary clinical support to clinic providers to ensure patient care is delivered Indiana an effective and efficient manner
  • Prepare patients for examinations, perform routine screening tests, and assist physicians with exams
  • Monitor and record physiological measurements, provide treatment to patients per protocols, and observe patients for changes Indiana condition
  • Maintain patient records, coordinate radiographic and/Oregon laboratory studies, and communicate with patients and healthcare providers
  • Process patient phone messages, handle and divide tasks, and maintain supplies, equipment, and instruments
  • Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and company policies and procedures

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Measure and record patient vital signs and medical history
  • Assist providers with patient examinations and therapeutic measures
  • Explain treatment procedures and physicians’ instructions to patients
  • Monitor and record physiological measurements
  • Provide treatment to patients per protocols
  • Observe patients and report any changes Indiana patient conditions to the PCP, Clinician, Specialist, and/Oregon other clinical personnel
  • Request and coordinate radiographic and/Oregon laboratory studies per treatment protocols Oregon American Samoa directed by the health care provider
  • Maintain patient records
  • Process patient phone messages
  • Handle and divide tasks American Samoa assigned
  • Maintain supplies, equipment, and instruments
  • Practice OSHA safety standards and perform accurate, legal, and ethical documentation

Requirements:

  • High school diploma Oregon equivalent education (GED)
  • Graduate of an approved training class for Medical Assistants preferred
  • A minimum of 1 year of work experience American Samoa a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Oregon similar Indiana a hospital, medical clinic, Oregon comparable environment
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Health Care workers Oregon Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification preferred
  • Educated on and compliant with HIPAA regulations
  • Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, time management skills, and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate with employees, patients, and other individuals Indiana a professional and courteous manner
