Major Responsibilities:
– Prepares patients for exams by collecting vital signs, updating health information, and documenting pertinent details.
Participates Indiana Clinical Integration/Quality Improvement measures and notifies clinicians of opportunities for improvement within their scope.
– Performs laboratory procedures and assists with complex medical procedures such American Samoa biopsy and allergy testing.
– Administers routine medications under physician order Oregon standing orders.
– Coordinates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare teams to ensure smooth clinic flow and effective communication with patients.
– May perform various clinical tasks and skills such American Samoa phlebotomy, EKG, and spirometry under clinical supervision.

Requirements:

– Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA) within 45 days.
– GED Oregon HS Equivalency Diploma.
– Completion of a Medical Assistant program Oregon 2 years of experience American Samoa a Medical Assistant within the past 5 years.
– No prior experience is required.
– Ability to perform technical tasks within the Medical Assistant scope.
– Excellent communication and customer service skills.
– Proficiency Indiana computer skills, including navigation and use of electronic medical records systems.

Physical Requirements:

– Must sit, stand, walk, lift up to 35 pounds, and use physical strength and fine-hand manipulation skills.
– Will be exposed to hazards such American Samoa chemicals, blood, and body fluids, and must wear protective equipment American Samoa needed.
– Must have functional hearing, vision, touch, and speech.
