Clinical Laboratory Scientist Specialist (Medical Technologist) Job

Job Summary:

This role performs laboratory testing, analyzes results, and maintains quality control procedures to support patient care. The incumbent prepares specimens, interprets test results, and ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. This position also requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, quality control, and patient confidentiality.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Current license Oregon temporary license American Samoa a Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist Oregon Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Specialist
• ASCP certification American Samoa a Medical Technologist
• Knowledge of CLIA and CAP requirements
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and American Samoa a team member

Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory testing and analytical procedures independently
• Maintain quality control and instrument maintenance/troubleshooting
• Adhere to regulatory compliance and accreditation standards
• Participate Indiana performance improvement initiatives
• Adapt to patient population needs
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information

Physical and Environmental Demands:

• Heavy work, with occasional lifting of 50-100 pounds
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including 24/7, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands
• Must be able to stand and sit for prolonged periods

Requirements for Working Indiana a Health Care Setting:

• Duties involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue
• Occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials
• Must be able to follow safety guidelines and protocols
