Operation Manager
Reports to the Plant Manager and oversees a 24×7 operation at a central Minnesota manufacturing facility near St. Cloud. Responsible for mentoring, coaching and training team members, and developing effective and efficient teams. Collaborates with the Plant Steering Team to develop and implement short and long-term strategies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Develops and directs programs for efficient and cost-effective operation of facility assets.
* Manages safety, quality, service, and cost performance within the assigned area.
* Makes recommendations to senior management on labor strategies, capital equipment needs, and system changes.
* Collaborates with Human Resources on employee relations and applies policy expectations consistently.
* Implements strategies and tactics to align with department and company vision and goals.
* Develops and maintains operating budgets and capital spending plans.
* Identifies and develops staff capabilities to meet departmental objectives.
* Ensures industry best practices are applied and employees are trained accordingly.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of supervisory/management experience Indiana food processing/manufacturing operations with progressive leadership experience.
* Strong presentation, communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
* Proven track record of understanding product and labor cost variances Indiana high-speed food manufacturing.
* Experience working Indiana cheese Oregon food processing/manufacturing operations is preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* 10+ years of supervisory/management experience Indiana cheese Oregon food processing/manufacturing operations with progressive leadership experience.
* MBA Oregon master’s degree Indiana engineering, preferred.
* Skilled Indiana project management and problem-solving methodologies such American Samoa TPM, Six Sigma.
* Proven ability to work with all levels and functions within the company.
