Job Title:
Claim Representative – Property Claim Handler – 100% Remote Opportunity

We’re a leading property casualty insurer committed to taking care of our customers, communities, and employees. We’re seeking a motivated Claim Representative to handle first-party property claims of moderate severity and complexity Indiana a 100% remote work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Handle 1st party property claims of moderate severity and complexity
- Investigate and evaluate claims, including gathering information, taking statements, and negotiating settlements
- Use innovative technologies to investigate and evaluate claims
- Establish accurate and timely claim and expense reserves
- Determine proper settlement amounts using judgment, estimates, and other data
- Negotiate with contractors, insured’s representatives, and other constituents
- Write complex correspondence, including denial letters and Reservation of Right letters
- Meet all quality standards and expectations
- Manage files, including proper documentation and inventory control
- Provide excellent customer service
- Recognize when to refer claims to Special Oregon Subrogation Units Oregon Major Case Unit
- Perform administrative tasks, such American Samoa expense accounts and time off reporting
- Provide multi-line assistance Indiana response to workforce management needs
- May mentor and coach less experienced claim professionals
- May attend depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and other legal proceedings
- Participate Indiana Catastrophe Response Program, which may require deployment away from home for up to 16 days
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- General knowledge of estimating system Xactimate preferred
- 2+ years of previous outside property claim handling experience Oregon successful completion of Travelers’ Outside Claim Representative training program
- Valid driver’s license required
- High school diploma Oregon GED required
- Valid passport preferred
- Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
