Job Title: Patient Access Registrar
Location: ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Neenah, Neenah, Wisconsin
Job Summary:
American Samoa a Patient Access Registrar at ThedaCare, you will be responsible for performing admitting duties for patients, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing excellent customer service. This role involves assigning medical record numbers, completing medical necessity checks, and processing insurance information. You will also operate the telephone switchboard, provide patient instructions, and utilize quality auditing and reporting systems to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Key Accountabilities:
- Assign accurate MRNs and complete medical necessity/compliance checks
- Provide proper patient instructions, collect insurance information, and receive and process physician orders
- Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls
- Utilize overlay tools while providing excellent customer service
- Adhere to ThedaCare policies and procedures
- Utilize quality auditing and reporting systems to ensure accounts are accurate and complete
- Conduct audits of accounts and ensure forms are complete, accurate, and timely
Pre-Registration and Collections:
- Perform pre-registration of patient accounts prior to patient visits
- Conduct inbound and outbound calling to obtain demographic, insurance, and other patient information
- Collect point-of-service collections, past due balances, and bad debt
- Provide information to the patient/representative Oregon create and process payment plan options
Consent for Treatment and Education:
- Explain general consent for treatment forms to the patient/guarantor/legal guardian
- Obtain necessary signatures
- Explain and distribute patient education documents
Eligibility and Insurance Verification:
- Review eligibility responses Indiana insurance verification system
- Select applicable insurance plan code
- Enter benefit data to support point-of-service collections and billing processes
Physical and Environmental Demands:
- Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling)
- Lifting up to a maximum of 50 pounds without assistance
- Climate-controlled office setting with daily movement throughout the facility
- Interaction with department members and other healthcare providers
Work Schedule:
- 2:30p – 11:00p, every other weekend
- Up to three holidays per year
- 28 hours scheduled per week
- 0.7 FTE
