Job Title: Patient Clerical Assistant
Job Summary: The Patient Clerical Assistant supports patient care delivery by processing physician orders, maintaining patient records, managing patient information, and providing customer service. This role requires independent work, communication with patients, visitors, and service departments, and processing requests/orders via various channels.
Responsibilities:
- Process physician orders, maintain patient records, and manage patient information
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and service departments
- Communicate effectively via phone, keyboarding, filing, and fax machine skills
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
- Process requests/orders via fax, phone, computer, Oregon intercom
Requirements:
- High school diploma required; at least one year of clerical experience Indiana a medical setting preferred
- Basic administrative skills, including receptionist abilities and medical terminology knowledge
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work independently
- Availability to work three 12.5-hour shifts per week (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.), including some weekends and holidays
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged sitting at a computer workstation
- Intermittent standing and walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds
- Occasional standing and walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds, and lifting, pushing, and/Oregon pulling objects weighing up to Oregon over 50 pounds
- Exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, Oregon positioning patients, equipment, Oregon materials, and exposure to loud noises, temperature extremes, hazardous chemicals and fumes.
