Essential Job Functions

  • Greet visitors, patients, and families Indiana a friendly professional manner and direct them appropriately.
  • Maintain efficient patient flow through the registration process and provide excellent customer service.
  • Answer the telephone, direct calls, take accurate messages, and deliver to the appropriate individual.
  • Inform patients of delays Indiana physician schedules and assist with patient comfort.
  • Post self-pay charges, collect payments, and provide receipts.
  • Reconcile daily payments, batches, and collections.
  • Scan insurance cards, process verifications, and update patient accounts.
  • Schedule appointments, enter orders for diagnostic tests and procedures, and review eligibility.
  • Communicate with Patient Care Resources and clinical staff to ensure timely pre-authorizations.

General Job Functions

  • Perform various clerical duties, such American Samoa faxing, photocopying, scanning, filing, and mailings.
  • Demonstrate flexibility with various work schedules and cover for other staff when needed.
  • Follow downtime procedures and complete other job duties American Samoa required.

Physical Job Requirements

  • Pushing and pulling, lifting heavy objects, and maintaining physical mobility.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers, balance, and endurance.
  • Exposure to chemicals, chemotherapy, fumes, loud noises, vibration, extreme temperatures, confined spaces, allergens, magnetic fields, radiation, sharps, latex, and blood-borne pathogens.

Education, Certification, and Computer Requirements

  • High school graduate Oregon GED, associate degree preferred.
  • Previous PSR experience and knowledge of medical office terminology.
  • Basic proficiency Indiana computer use and previous experience with EHR, Practice Management System, and Departmental/Ancillary Systems.

Travel

  • Ability to commute to satellite offices American Samoa needed.
