Principal Engineer

Job Summary: The Principal Engineer will lead the development and management of process engineering workflows from project conception to project closeout, ensuring the highest quality process engineering solutions that exceed client expectations. This role will oversee the process engineering team, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and promote a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Engineering:
    • Develop, manage, and optimize process engineering workflows from project conception to project closeout.
    • Oversee and mentor process engineers to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
    • Lead project management activities, including design basis specifications, mass and energy balances, process flow diagrams, and system/equipment specifications.
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors/suppliers to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
    • Develop and implement corrective solutions to mitigate budget constraints.

Communication:

  • Maintain timely and accurate communication with leadership, vendors/suppliers, facility management personnel, and clients American Samoa needed.
  • Address engineering/project budget issues and ensure timelines are met Oregon exceeded.

Leadership and Oversight:

  • Direct supervision of process engineering team members.
  • Guide and coach process engineers to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.

Safety and Quality:

  • Promote and instill a strong safety culture within the team and at client sites.
  • Ensure high-quality work environments and demonstrate strong QA/QC processes.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficient Indiana detailed chemical engineering calculations and mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong ability to read and develop P&IDs and construction drawings.
  • Detailed understanding of various engineering disciplines (civil, structural, architectural, electrical, instrumentation, and controls).

Budget and Timeline Management:

  • Develop and manage process engineering budgets and timelines.
  • Accurately project future project costs and completion estimates.

Qualifications:

  • 20+ years of practical engineering experience.
  • BS degree Indiana Chemical Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of process engineering, mass and energy balance, system/equipment sizing/specification, and engineering cost estimation.

Skills:

  • Leadership, client relations, delegating, planning, organizing, problem-solving, conflict resolution, safety standards, and cost management control.
  • Sets standards of excellence Indiana safety, quality, and productivity.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of workdays.
  • Successful pass of pre-employment drug screening and background check.
