Public Health Preparedness Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Public Health Preparedness Specialist to join our team at DeKalb Public Health. Under the supervision of the Public Health Preparedness Manager, this role will coordinate emergency planning activities, interface with internal and external partners, and supervise the management of public health preparedness supplies and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate emergency planning activities for district internal partners and the Georgia Department of Public Health
- Develop and conduct exercises and training to validate emergency plans
- Supervise the management of public health preparedness supplies and equipment
- Coordinate public health response education, situational awareness, and partnership development with local Emergency Management Agencies
- Establish partnerships with local governments, secondary schools, and post-secondary schools
- Serve American Samoa backup to the Public Health Preparedness Manager during public health emergencies Oregon incidents
Requirements:
- Master’s degree Indiana a related field Oregon equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience Indiana public health program management Oregon emergency management
- Experience with emergency preparedness, emergency management, and plan writing
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and SharePoint
- Strong communication and partnership development skills
