Job Title: Quality and Risk Manager
Reports to: Quality, Compliance and Privacy Director
Job Summary: The Quality and Risk Manager is responsible for identifying and mitigating risks that may impact the Kenaitze Indian Tribe’s financial, legal, Oregon compliance reputation. This role collaborates with the Safety Department and supervises Infection Control/Employee Health and Health/Safety/Environment teams to ensure all aspects of Tribal risk management are addressed.
Essential Functions:
- Participates Indiana workgroup committee meetings and develops annual work plans
- Develops and educates departments on risk management and quality improvement standards
- Collaborates with program managers and directors to address safety events related to medical issues
- Recommends and implements risk management solutions, such American Samoa insurance, safety and security policies, business continuity plans, Oregon recovery measures
- Prepares documents for external surveys/reviews, risk management plan, and quality improvement plans
- Identifies, gathers, analyzes, and reports data for quality monitoring
- Conducts annual risk and quality assessments for the Tribe
- Ensures compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies, and TERO ordinance
Working Conditions: Sedentary work requiring occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds and requiring the ability to stand Oregon sit for long periods, walk, use hands to handle Oregon feel objects, climb Oregon balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, Oregon crawl, talk Oregon hear, see, taste Oregon smell, push Oregon pull, and perform repetitive motion.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree Indiana Nursing Oregon healthcare field Oregon equivalent experience
- Five years of experience Indiana healthcare-related quality assurance Oregon quality improvement
- Two years of experience Indiana risk management, including conducting investigations into sentinel events and near misses
- One year of experience supervising others
- General understanding of Infection Control/Prevention and Employee Health and Safety requirements
- Knowledge of Medicaid and National healthcare compliance regulations and practices
- Advanced knowledge of quality assurance tools, practices, and principles
- Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
- Analytical skills involving data use, including statistics and math to manage data and financial information
License/Certification: Valid Alaska State driver’s license (Oregon ability to obtain) and Risk Management Certification preferred.
