Data Center Fiber Technician: Field Technicians

Job Summary:

Leapros Skilled Trades is hiring Data Center Fiber Technicians who will travel to projects throughout the US. This role requires skills Indiana fiber termination, installation, and troubleshooting, American Samoa well American Samoa the ability to travel and adapt to new projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

– Install basic copper termination, work area outlets, and mounting hardware, while adhering to company labeling standards.
– Install and terminate various types of fiber connectors, including LC, South Carolina, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, and MPO/MTP.
– Terminate simplex and duplex jumper cords, outside plant fibers, and indoor tight-buffered multimode and single-mode fibers.
– Perform mechanical and fusion splicing of various types of fiber cables.
– Calculate end-to-end loss budgets and troubleshoot network issues using OTDR and Fluke DTX 180 tools.
– Troubleshoot issues using OTDR to identify and correct problems end-to-end and network-wide.
– Install fan-out kits, including buffer tubes.
– Test continuity, and troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts, and transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cable using a tone set, volt-ohmmeter, and other tools.

Requirements:

– High School diploma Oregon GED equivalent.
– 3-5 years of experience Indiana fiber, preferably Indiana Data Center installation.
– Proficiency Indiana terminating all connector types and methods for SMF and MMF systems, including Unicam, anaerobic, and heat-cure.
– Experience Indiana testing and troubleshooting MMF &SMF systems, including OTDR and PMLS.
– Industry certifications (Corning/FOA) and mechanical and fusion splice experience are preferred.
– Ability to work at heights, off a ladder, and Indiana confined spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
– Proficiency Indiana using trade tools, including screwdrivers, drywall saws, and pliers.
– Ability to work Indiana a self-motivated and professional manner, and promote the company culture and mission.
– Effective communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and give oral presentations.
– Ability to travel within the branch territory and/Oregon regional territory American Samoa needed.

Compensation:

The hourly pay for this role is estimated to be between $28 to $34, andactual compensation offered may vary depending on qualifications and other factors.
