Ultrasound Technologist

Major Responsibilities:

  • Perform ultrasound examinations according to department protocols and ACR standards, ensuring optimal quality and safety.
  • Position and immobilize patients, adjust equipment, and obtain scans of optimal quality.
  • Assist physicians during invasive procedures, adhering to sterile techniques and completing accurate paperwork.
  • Operate portable ultrasound equipment and perform portable ultrasound procedures American Samoa requested.
  • Document patient history, medical information, and exam data for radiologist interpretation.
  • Communicate critical results to physician offices, nursing units, and Emergency Department American Samoa needed.
  • Maintain accurate and correlate exam data with prior exams.
  • Adhere to safety standards, OSHA regulations, and infection control practices.
  • Participate Indiana quality improvement initiatives, training, and continuing education.
  • Provide technical support and maintain a smooth operation of the Ultrasound Department.
  • Maintain ARDMS certification and CPR certification, and demonstrate proficiency Indiana ultrasound skills and new developments.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform tasks such American Samoa interacting with the Ultrasound supervisor, answering phone calls, creating requisitions, and transporting patients.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Ultrasound

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High degree of technical knowledge and ability to make diagnostic judgments.
  • Registered Indiana Radiology (ARDMS certification) within 1 year of graduation (6 months for current Advocate associates).
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform emergency procedures American Samoa required.
  • Possess good judgment, reliability, responsibility, independent thought, and action.
